Are you crazy-eager to be part of a team devoted to helping writers—new and seasoned—realize their dreams of bringing their stories to the page/screen/stage?
Have we got an internship for you!
The kind of things our interns do:
- Counsel prospective students over the phone, via email, and on live chat
- Help judge our contests
- Jump feet-first into projects that will introduce new folks to Gotham
- Chime in with ideas and be taken seriously
- Add to “water-cooler" chat about the latest movie/TV show/blog/exhibit/novel
You'll need some skills—computer, customer service, interpersonal—but if you learn fast and are up for a challenge, that might work, too.
We work on a hybrid “live and remote” schedule. We give preference to interns who can work some days in our NYC office, but will also consider interns who will be working only remotely.
Interns work weekdays from 10am-4pm ET, typically three days a week for three months.
And what do you get for your troubles? Gotham internships are unpaid, but interns do receive at least one 10-Week Workshop of their choice, two or three Intensives—and may take more classes as availability allows—plus the satisfaction of having an impact on a creatively flourishing New York institution. They are also eligible, on occasion, to perform additional paid work.
If this sounds right for you, send a brief (but creative) cover letter and resume to Dana Miller at [email protected].
Be positive. Be friendly. Be energetic. Be creative. Be our intern!
Here you’ll see a roster (and some testimonials) of our previous interns.
